When my son told me he wanted to pursue learning more about model toy trains, I was excited for him. We have a finished room in the house that collects odds and ends, but has no real purpose and I could picture his layout up and running already. I left him to begin learning, since I thought it would be a simple process; we buy the trains and tracks and we’re good to go, right?
